Trauma & Learning: Pathway to Healing - Lathardus Goggins II, Ed.D.

When done "well" SEL, PBIS, Restorative Practice, and Trauma-Informed/Healing-centered efforts are integrated into the fabric of the educative experience.
They are not separate "add-ons" (limited activities done once a week) - these are not "soft skills" to only enhance the rigor of academics. Social Emotional Learning (in all the various iterations) is the foundation upon which "all learning" takes place - SEL is the criterion for quality education, and therefore quality teaching. Human development is "the" purpose of education. Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic are tools for the human, and thus tools for human development. Remember, "I don't teach math. I teach kids (little humans) math."
